3 Daytrips from Grafenwöhr on Rainy Days

It’s officially spring time here in Grafenwöhr. What does that mean for those of us who love to travel? It means you have to plan around the rainy days ahead. We have to avoid castles, gardens, and wildlife parks unless we don’t mind getting drenched. Of course we won’t melt, but it’s hard to enjoy things when you’re worried about your phone and camera getting damaged. Too many of us complain about the dreary days and allow the rain to keep us cooped up inside. Don’t let the rain stop you from your adventures. That’s why I compiled this list of 3 day trips in Grafenwöhr for those rainy days.

Prague is just a little over 2 hours from Grafenwöhr. Normally the city is swarming with tourists, but when it rains they tend to flee to other cities. Spend your rainy day at a medieval dinner show in Prague. They provide a traditional medieval dinner which often includes fresh bread with cheese and garlic spread, Czech pancakes filled with spinach and garlic, roasted duck, roasted chicken, a baked potato, beef goulash with bread dumplings, and they end it with mouthwatering homemade cakes. Not only will you be stuffed like a turkey when you leave, but you will experience sword fights, belly dancers, medieval musicians, fortune tellers, and fire dancers as you dine.

Another option for lunch or dinner is Vytopna Railway Restaurant. This restaurant serves your drinks on model trains. The trains run on a railway that will deliver your refills right to your table. Afterwards, if you love to shop you must visit the Palladium for a great inside mall shopping experience. The mall consists of 177 stores and is the closest you will experience to a mall similar to those in the states. Prague is a unique destination for a daytrip for a rainy day near Grafenwöhr.
