German Eierlikörkuchen!


German Eierlikörkuchen (Egg Liquor Pound cake)

Eierlikör is a creamy liquor with texture like Eggnog and a custard-like flavor. The alcohol level is between 14% and 20%. Most of the time it is a blend of egg yolks, rum, brandy, vanilla sugar and cream (evaporated milk). Brands of Eierlikör you can find easily are Advocaat and Verpoorten. You can make all kinds of delicious cakes and sweets with it like Trüffels, Cakes, and Tiramisu. I love the taste of it in the cake. Here is my favorite recipe my mother always made.


  • 5 Eggs
  • 250 Gram Sugar
  • 2 Packages Vanillesugar ( 16 Gram )
  • 1/4 Liter Vegetable Oil
  • 1/4 Liter Eierlikör
  • 250 Gram Flour
  • 1 Package Baking-powder ( 15 Gram )
  • 100 Gramm Chocolate Sprinkles if desired
  • Powdered Sugar for decoration

Preheat the oven to 180 ° Celsius . Mix the flour and the baking powder in an separate bowl . Stir the eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar then stir in oil and the Eierlikör. Add the flour/ baking powder mixture and add it in your pan. Bake on the middle rack for about one hour. Check with a toothpick and let it cool down on a rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving
