Silvretta Montafon is another one of those little jewels that you may have driven by on every ski trip you took. It is an easy drive right into Austria past the Bodensee and down to the Montafon area. The area is special in that it has more than 140 kilometers of piste but the atmosphere is relaxed and quiet. Unlike the crowds and noise you will find in Sölden or St Anton, Montafon caters to the skiers. There is still plenty of night life but it is spread out.
If you are more into ski touring this area is right for you. Instead of going up one of the main lifts, you can head to Partenen and go up to Bielerhöhe for miles of untouched snow. Take a day tour back to the Wiesbadener Hütte and enjoy the wonderful sights of the Silvretta Range. Room rates throughout the Montafon valley are very attractive and almost always available. This makes Silvretta Montafon the perfect last-minute ski get away.
