St. Anton am Arlberg
St Anton am Arlberg is located just up the road from Sölden in what is commonly called “The Cradle of Alpine Skiing”. St Anton is often listed as one of the top ski resorts in the world and it is right at your back door! Though not exclusive to St Anton, the Ski Arlberg region offers 92 lifts covering more than 300km of groomed piste. I don’t think you can get through all that in a day!
While not a cheap as the deals in Sölden, good reservations can be had during low seasons. You may have to search a bit farther out for a decent rate during the peak times. There is always the possibility to rent a nice holiday apartment or house for the family. Doing such a trip as a group makes it very economic and a ton of fun!
