Five Must-See Sites for a Weekend in Berlin

DDR Museum

Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 1

This was by far the most hands-on museum I have ever been to. Perfect for both young and old this museum is well worth the admission fee. Take a tour of what life was like in the Deutsche Demokrastische Republik (East Berlin) from every aspect of life. Take a ride in the car simulator, discover what an engineer, mine worker, and shop keeper’s days were like, spend some time inside a mock apartment set up just like one would have been in the late 70’s-early 80’s, or see and feel what an interrogation by the police might be like. There are tons of touch screens to interact with and drawer after drawer of interesting artifacts that really get you to understand what life was like. Save some money and get your tickets online rather than purchasing at the door.
