Five Must See Attractions for Historical Lovers While in London

Macbeth

# 5 Shakespeare’s Globe

William Shakespeare is most famous for his plays Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, and Hamlet. Did you know he also invented over 1700 words? Don’t worry, I didn’t know that either until I visited Shakespeare’s Globe. Although the theater is a replica of the Globe that Shakespeare had built, it has been carefully replicated from the painted faux marble columns to the thatched roof. Unfortunately, the original located a few blocks up the road caught fire and burned to the ground. A modern building has since been built there.

The tour and artifacts of the building and exhibition are nothing short of amazing. The guide is passionate and keeps you mesmerized. We even had the opportunity to watch the actors warming up an hour before a show. We were not lucky enough to get a seat in the sold out show, but if you are prepared you can be whisked away into Shakespeare’s play for only 5 pounds!
